Minutes of SENSE meeting Feb. 8, 1978 at 846 Lathrop dr. Stanford

	The meeting was called on the initiative of Edward Teller
to plan letter campaign to State Assembly on the Sundesert
exemption bill.

Attendance: Tom Conolly, Richard Karp, John McCarthy, Rudy Sher,
Edward Teller

Connolly will prepare a statement urging the assembly to exempt
Sundesert nuclear plant from law requiring Energy Commission
approval.  McCarthy and Karp will reproduce the statement, and
we will get it out to Stanford engineering and science faculty,
especially those who signed statement against Proposition 15.

Speed is of the essence.

Teller will speak to Assemblyman Calvo on Friday.

There was a side discussion on how to make the politics of
Santa Clara Valley reflect its position as one of the leading
technological communities of the world.  Bill Anders, form
astronaut, NRC chairman, and now V.P. at GE San Jose was mentioned.
